Mike Frey best known as singer and main songwriter for San Diego indie rock band The Transit War has started a new solo project called ...students. The debut album "New Habits" is out today digitally.

Frey said he took inspiration from Phil Collins and John Lennon as far as key members leaving their bands behind. A cool little fact for this album is that the music on the album was all played by Ilan Rubin (Nine Inch Nails/The New Regime/Lostprophets).

If you like Beck, Blur, Death Cab, Brand New, Julian Casablancas...you'll find solace in this album full of hooks.

Weezer have launched a contest allowing fans the ability to remix their song, "Love Is The Answer," from the band's latest full-length, Raditude. The individual instrumental and vocal tracks are separated here, and a public vote will determine the top 10 entrants--each of whom will be featured on Weezer's homepage and MySpace page and receive a signed copy of Raditude. The grand prize winner will be given the opportunity to participate in a one-on-one collaboration to create a new song with frontman Rivers Cuomo.

Manchester Orchestra frontman Andy Hull has revealed the title of the upcoming third album from his side-project, Right Away, Great Captain! Hull tweeted that the final installment of the trilogy will be called The Big Bad Devil And The Great Good God. The first two chapters included 2007's The Bitter End and 2008's The Eventually Home.
